I think those of us who don't want them should have an option to turning off broadcast messages, expecially this last one. Is there any way of doing this, and do those things go to everyone all at once? I have all quicknotes inactive, and I still get them. I wouldn't mind it if it were a news bulletin once in a while, but some of them I don't see the point of.
Is there any way of turning them off permanently?

Which broadcast messages have you seen WW, I mean, which ones did you find annoying? Like, when people go premium? I don't think there's a way to turn them off...Yet...Lol.
well, that last one about the gods hearing all of us, and that next bit, I would be too embarrassed to repeat, especially to someone as young as you lets just say it was the part right in between the gods can hear all of you, and play keeno.

well, I'm sort of glad people don't sign up for premium everyday, lol. I guess I could just refresh the page or something when they come up, I think they might go away after a minute or two anyhow. I ignored one just by continuing what I was doing, funny how when you hear that trumpet, you automatically assume it's something important.I figured mostly it was their way of advertising, and we just had to tolerate them, but after this last one, I thought I'd put it as a suggestion that we'd have the option of turning them off if we wanted to.

the message was posted I believe by admin in response to what was said in mass quick note land. I doubt it'll be happening again. and I disagree. broadcast quick notes are very important to have on, and there should be no reason to turn them off. in the same instance. they shouldn't be abused either. btw. community leaders don't have access to the broadcast function.
Ya I like broadcast QN's cuz they say when people go Premium and I liek to know that, and they say when new people join s well don't they? Or something? But ya I'd keep them on. But I can see how they might annoy some if they were abused, but this doesn't sound like abuse...
Well Liam, maybe some of them can be useful, like reporting when a bug is fixed, or a new feature, but I respectfully disagree with you about there being no need to turn them off. I don't know what goes on in mass quicknotes, so whatever was said, I had nothing to do with it. When this came up, I was like, what the heck? What was that all about? I haven't seen any broadcast message that was that important, I mean, why should it matter to us who's a premium member

Hi Caitlin, No, I don't think they broadcast when someone new joins, or at least I haven't seen any that did.

Hi WW, Yeah you're probably right, I wasn't sure. And I don't think that dirty broadcast message thing or nondirty or offensive or whatever it was, I didn't see it--I don't think it'll happen to again. i was talkign ot liam abouti to n QN's and sounds like it was just a one-time thing, and it wont' happen again.
I really doubt Admin will do that again seeing as it caused issues. but, I stil disagree that broadcast messages should be turned off. they're hardly used, but when they're used it's for important stuff. It's obvious j's message didn't have a high level of importance, but then it's his site, so I guess he can do what he wants. granted, I'm sure this is a poor outlook so you'll have to excuse me. why not take it up with him off the boards?
I don't even know what you guys are talking about. I have never gotten a broadcast message and don't know how to turn them off or on. Can someone explain? I am a premium member and often use the invisible feature. Is this why I have never heard a broadcast message?
Well, to me it wouldn't make sense to turn them off when you really don't get them that often. I agree with you Liam, they should stay on cause if something important comes up and we don't know about it, we would all be lost souls.

Didn't there used to be an announcement when a newby registered for the site? Either I've missed those, which seems unlikely as i've beeno n here for like ages for so long, or they dont' do that anymore? And if it's been discontinued, why? I liked knowing when a newby joined lol.
I think it has been discontinued due to new account creations from the persistent little spammer
it'll be back. but it was just a Quicknote not broadcast.
